莊子天地篇云 泰初有無 無有無名 一之所起 有一而未形 物得以生謂之德

陰陽調 日夜分 故萬物春分而生 秋分而成 生與成必得和之精 故積陰不生 積陽不化 陰陽交接 乃能成和

注云 此天地之氣和平 故萬物得以生成也

莊子因曰

泰初有無無。有無名（泰初。造化之始初也。無無者。連無之一字。亦無處安着也。無名者。即老子所謂無名。天地之始也。）。一之所起（無中生有也。）。有一而未形（雖有。必本之於無也。）。物得以生。謂之德（此箇未形之理。物不得不可以為生。德之為言得也。故曰德。）。未形者有分。且然無間謂之命（至於未形者有分。陰陽闔闢。往來不窮。且然無間。是則天之所以為命也。詩云。惟天之命。於穆不已。同此。）。留動而生物（造化之道。動則鼓萬物之出機。物者動之留。寓而成質者也。）。物成生理謂之形（物既生矣。而造化之生理隨物而各止。如動植胎卵巨細之不同。要皆一成而不可易。）。形體保神。各有儀則謂之性（有形矣。必有形形者以主之。則神也。形體而保守其神。使視聽言動。莫不有自然之儀則。謂之性。○以上言天道從內而之外有如此。）。

約伯記 Job 第38章

38:1 那時耶和華從旋風中回答約伯，說，

Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,

38:2 誰用無知的言語，使我的旨意暗晦不明？

Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge?

38:3 你要如勇士束腰；我問你，你可以指示我。

Gird up now your loins like a mighty man; For I will ask of you, and you shall inform Me.

38:4 我立大地根基的時候，你在那裡？你若有聰明，只管告訴我。

Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.

38:5 你若曉得就說，是誰定地的尺度？是誰把準繩拉在其上？

Who set its measurements-if you know? Or who stretched the measuring line over it?

38:6 地的基礎置於何物之上？地的角石是誰安放的？

Onto what were its bases sunk, Or who laid its cornerstone,

38:7 那時晨星一同歌唱，神的眾子也都歡呼。

When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

38:8 海水沖出，如出胎胞；那時誰用門將海關閉？

And who hedged in the sea with doors When it burst forth, issuing from the womb,

38:9 是我用雲彩當海的衣服，用幽暗當包裹海的布，

When I made clouds its clothing And deep darkness its swaddling clothes,

38:10 我為海定界限，又安門和閂，

And I broke out My boundaries for it And set up bars and doors,

38:11 說，你只可到這裡，不可越過，你狂傲的浪要到此止住。

And I said, To here you shall come and no farther, And here shall your proud waves be stopped?

38:12 你出生的日子以來，曾命定晨光麼？你曾使曙光知道本位，

Have you ever commanded the morning since your days began? Have you ever caused the dawn to know its place,

38:13 叫這光普照地的四極，將惡人從其中抖出來麼？

So that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked might be shaken out of it?

38:14 地面改變如泥上蓋印；萬物出現如衣服一樣。

The earth is changed like clay under a seal, And all things on it stand forth like a garment.

38:15 亮光不照惡人，高舉的膀臂也必折斷。

And from the wicked their light is withheld, And the high arm is broken.

38:16 你曾進到海的泉源，或在深淵的隱密處行走麼？

Have you entered into the springs of the sea, Or have you walked about in the recesses of the deep?

38:17 死亡的門，曾向你顯露麼？死蔭的門，你曾見過麼？

Have the gates of death been revealed to you, Or have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?

38:18 地的廣闊，你能明了麼？你若全知道，只管說罷。

Have you comprehended the full expanse of the earth? Declare it, if you know it all.

38:19 往光之居所的路在那裡？黑暗的本位在何處？

Where is the way to the dwelling of the light? And the darkness, where is its place,

38:20 你能把黑暗帶到本境，看明達到其屋之路麼？

That you may take it to its boundary, And that you may perceive the paths to its house?

38:21 你總知道，因為那時你已經出生，你日子的數目也多。

You know, for you were born then, And the number of your days is great.

38:22 你曾進入雪庫，或見過雹倉麼？

Have you entered into the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,

38:23 這雪雹乃是我為降災的時候，為打仗和爭戰的日子所貯存的。

Which I have reserved for the day of calamity, For the day of battle and of war?

38:24 往光分開之處的路在那裡？往東風在地上分散之處的路在那裡？

Where is the way to the place where the light is divided, To the place where the east wind scatters upon the earth?

38:25 誰為大雨分水道，誰為雷電開道路，

Who cut a channel for the rain torrent, Or a way for the thunderbolt,

38:26 使雨降在無人之地，無人居住的曠野；

To make it rain on a land where no man is, On a wilderness in which there is no man;

38:27 使荒廢淒涼之地得著灌溉，青草的嫩苗得以生長？

To satisfy the waste and desolate land And to cause the shoots of grass to sprout?

38:28 雨有父麼？露水珠是誰生的？

Does the rain have a father? Or who begot the drops of dew?

38:29 冰出於誰的胎？天上的霜是誰生的？

From whose womb does the ice come forth? And the frost of heaven, who gave birth to it?

38:30 諸水隱藏，凍結如石頭，深淵表面凝結成冰。

The waters hide themselves and become like stone, And the surface of the deep is frozen.

38:31 你能係住昴星的結，解開參星的帶麼？

Can you fasten the bands of the Pleiades, Or loosen the cords of Orion?

38:32 你能按時領出十二宮麼？能引導北斗和隨它的眾星麼？

Can you lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season? Or can you guide the Bear with its cubs?

38:33 你知道天的定例麼？能在地上建立天的管治麼？

Do you know the laws of the heavens? Do you establish their rule on the earth?

38:34 你能向雲彩揚起聲來，使充沛的雨水遮蓋你麼？

Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, So that a flood of water would cover you?

38:35 你能打發閃電，叫閃電行去，並且對你說，我們在這裡麼？

Can you send forth lightnings, so that they would go And say to you, Here we are?

38:36 誰將智慧放在人的懷中，將聰明賜於人的心思？

Who has put wisdom in the inward parts, Or given understanding to the mind?

38:37 塵、土聚集成團，土塊緊緊結連時，誰能用智慧數算雲彩？誰能傾倒天上的水瓶？

Who can number the clouds by wisdom, Or who can tip over the water jars of heaven,

When the dust runs into a mass And the clods stick together?

38:39 獅、子在洞中蹲伏，在叢林裡埋伏時，你能為母獅獵取食物，滿足少壯獅子的食慾麼？

Can you hunt prey for the lioness, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,

38:40

When they crouch in their dens, When they lie in wait in the thicket?

38:41 烏鴉之雛，因無食物飛來飛去，向神呼救時，誰為烏鴉預備食物？

Who provides for the raven its prey When its young ones cry out to God And wander about for lack of food?
